Which GigE Vision Standard Version Does My Basler GigE Camera Comply To#
Basler GigE cameras comply to the GigE Vision standard.
This standard has been updated throughout the years, and you may wonder which version of the standard your camera complies to.
It depends on the camera model and possibly on its firmware version. As a rule of thumb, we can say that:
- Older Basler GigE cameras are following the GigE Vision standard version 1.1.
- Recent Basler GigE cameras are following the GigE Vision standard version 2.0.
- Basler ace 2 cameras are following the GigE Vision standard version 2.1.
You can check the version used by your ace camera in the pylon Viewer as follows:
In the Features pane, click the Transport Layer category and check the version major and version minor values.
The graphic above shows Version Major = 1 and Version Minor = 1. This means that the camera supports GigE Vision Standard Version 1.1.
