CAUTION – Electric Shock and Fire Hazard
To avoid electrical shock or fire hazards only SELV (Safety Extra Low Voltage) and LPS (Limited Power Source) may be used.
The maximum current allowed is 2 A.
Using the power-I/O cable extension may cause problems in camera operation.
Using the cable extension increases the length of the standard power-I/O cable designed for Basler cameras to up to 18 m. Compared to the standard power-I/O cable, the voltage drop between the power supply and the camera will be higher. Therefore, you need to consider the following aspects:
- This increases the risk of supplying power with insufficient voltage for proper camera operation.
- The signal latency will increase.
- The likelihood for picking up extraneous signals increases. Therefore, problems with electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electrostatic discharge (ESD) may increase.
To ensure proper camera operation, make sure that power with sufficient voltage is supplied by the power supply. The voltage available at the camera must at least match the strength specified in the respective camera user's manual.
