This topic provides sample circuit diagrams for connecting your Basler camera to external circuitry.

Opto-Coupled Input Line#

The following diagram shows a typical circuit using the opto-coupled input line (Line 1). As an example, a TTL or CMOS logic gate is used in the external circuit.

GPIO Input Line#

The following diagram shows a typical circuit when a GPIO line is set to operate as an input. As an example, Line 2 is connected, and a TTL or CMOS logic gate is used in the external circuit.

GPIO Output Line#

The following diagram shows a typical circuit when a GPIO line is set to operate as an output. As an example, Line 2 is connected. This circuit only works with devices that accept NPN communication.

Galvanically Isolated Input Line#

The following diagram shows a typical circuit using the galvanically isolated input line (Line 1). As an example, a TTL or CMOS logic gate is used in the external circuit. The input pulse must be longer than 200 ns to be identified as a signal.

Galvanically Isolated Output Line#

The following diagram shows a typical circuit using the galvanically isolated output line (Line 2). This circuit only works with devices that accept NPN communication.

Opto-Coupled Output Line#

The following diagram shows a typical circuit using the opto-coupled output line. This circuit only works with devices that accept NPN communication.

The following diagram shows a typical circuit you can use to monitor the opto-coupled output line with an LED. In this example, the voltage in the external circuit is 24 VDC. Current in the circuit is limited by an external resistor.
