Getting Started (blaze Viewer)#

This topic explains the basic steps necessary to start acquiring images using a Basler blaze camera.

This topic assumes that the camera has been connected to your computer and the power supply.

Starting Image Acquisition#

To make the camera available for use, it needs be opened in the blaze Viewer. When you open the blaze Viewer for the first time, the camera will appear in the camera selector and will be open already. You can tell that it is open if the camera name appears at the top of the Features pane and the Connect icon on the toolbar appears dimmed. Also, the camera starts capturing images immediately.

If the camera isn't open, follow these steps:

  1. Open the camera.

    You can either click the Connect icon on the toolbar or go to the Camera menu and click Open.

  2. Start image acquisition.

    You can either click the Continuous Shot icon on the toolbar or go to the Camera menu and click Continuous Shot.

Normally, it is not necessary to close the camera. However, if you have a second computer from which you want to control the camera, you need to close it first as it can only be accessed by one computer at a time.
