Parameters:

Return: Returns the parameter value if the parameter is readable. Otherwise returns the default value.

Thread Safety:

The method accesses the parameter multiple times. These accesses are not synchronized by a lock.

Error Safety:

Can throw exceptions if reading the value fails.
